Preteen Socialization Group For Children (Ages 10 to 13)
We have designed this group to enhance the self-esteem of pre-teens who belong to this age group. As the group progresses, the leader will assist these pre-teens in identifying and expressing difficult feelings as they cope with daily life stressors and situations. Some of these might be disappointment, frustration, anger, family changes, anxiety - as well as a variety of problems that arise in the daily life of pre-teens.
Group members will develop their social skills through social awareness as they become more aware of personal responsibility and respect for the rights of others; problem solving, mutual aid, and team work. Structured discussions and activities as well as music and other creative mediums will be utilized to facilitate group discussion and mutual support.
