About the Director


MICHELLE P. MAIDENBERG, Ph.D., MPH, LCSW-R, CGP

Michelle P. Maidenberg, Ph.D., MPH, LCSW-R, CGP, is President and Clinical Director of Westchester Group Works. She received her PhD from Yeshiva University, her Masters degree in Social Work from NYU, her Masters degree in Public Health from Hunter College, and also attended a two-year training program in marital and family therapy at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn.

She previously worked as clinical supervisor and clinician at the Larchmont Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center, an adjunct professor at Fordham University and Yeshiva University, and as assistant professor at Iona College.

Dr. Maidenberg is a consultant for Fordham University's Children's FIRST where she trains practitioners to work with families. She also volunteers for the Sexual Assault Violence Intervention Program (SAVI) at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she provides psychotherapeutic treatment to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. She currently serves as the Chair of the Nursery School Board at Beth-El Nursery School in New Rochelle.

Dr. Maidenberg maintains a private practice in NYC offering treatment to individuals, couples and families, groups; She is a published author and frequently speaks on issues relevant to groupwork with all populations.

    This role includes: Facilitating training on rape and domestic violence to institutions such as schools and police departments; advocating for rape survivors and victims of domestic violence in the emergency room, on call monthly, and leading an Advocate Training Group to prepare advocates to assist rape survivors and domestic violence victims in the emergency room.
